About the Author

Phillip Lesbirel was born in Guernsey, Channel Islands. He had a working class background and was educated in the public system until he was 11 years old then won a scholarship to the Guernsey Grammar School for Boys; a Church of England Grammar School. Phillip did not do well at school and was delighted when his family emigrated to Australia in 1965 when he was 16 years old. He spent a further 6 months at the Cabramatta High school in the western suburbs of Sydney, before leaving at the end of the year (1965) and entered as a student of Chartered Accountancy (to study at the University of Sydney); but it was not for him. After a year, he left and went as an accounts clerk and production clerk in a foundry but again he hated working in an office so sought outside work. He worked as a laborer for some time unloading trucks of all types, especially loose material like coal, before he became a traveling salesman and enjoyed the work traveling around the State of Queensland and the Northern Rivers of New South Wales (NSW). After a serious and vicious attack while resting on one of his trips in a roadside rest area, he suffered severe head injuries and brain damage, and he entered a rehabilitation center for 8 months. While walking to the railway station one evening after a session at the Rehabilitation Center, he saw an advertisement for Motor Mechanics in the Army so applied. He was turned down by the army but he was accepted as an Adult Trainee Motor Mechanic in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). He intended to get his qualifications then leave to work outside the military after 6 years; it took 22 years before he left the military as he enjoyed his work and the exercises carried out as part of his duties. The attack had left him with a severe memory problem and because of this needed training to find a new career where he could earn a living, and training as a mechanic was ideal.

Phillip had found his calling in life and enjoyed being a mechanic but his other love was also being a skinhead. He had come into contact with the start of the skinhead movement before he had left the UK, but developed this on his arrival in Sydney. Phillip reluctantly resigned from the military when his health deteriorated in 2002 and sought work as a mechanic in Indigenous Communities in the Northern Territory. He did this for 2 years before retiring to Cairns in Far North Queensland in 2004. It was here he started to finally write novels and has since produced 43 novels and books (to date); mostly published on Amazon and Kindle. You can check all his books at the link below.

Phillip is a gay man and most of his books have a gay theme; although not all. He is well known for his skinhead books as well as his thrillers and detective novels. He also writes Sci-Fi books and has written a travel book. You will also note that he has written several books on diapers and the people who wear them. he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes shortly after leaving the RAAF, and has had to wear diaper protection ever since; hence his ability to write about the subject. Few writers include this subject in their repertoire, but the lack of story books and information on this subject prompted him to write instruction manuals and novels on the subject.

Phillip hopes you enjoy his books and please feel free to contact him if you have any questions or suggestions, at his contact page. or direct at Armyboi1949@gmail.com
